Description of the job at Silicom:
Goal :

Intervene in all phases of a telecom space project: upstream, specification and design, development, validation and qualification.

Main activities :

- Simulate a transmission chain or GNSS (Geolocation and Navigation by Satellite System)
       - Develop and/or operate a transmission chain or GNSS simulator
       - Specify and develop signal processing algorithms allowing the modeling of equipment and/or physical phenomena
       - Evaluate the impact of non-conformity of onboard/ground equipment

- Contribute to the definition of waveforms from system specifications
- Test and validate end-to-end performance
- Contribute to the realization of study reports and project documentation

Minimum skills required:

Signal processing (mathematical theories and tools)

In-depth knowledge

Matlab and/or equivalent (SCILAB/OCTAVE) development and operation

Operational knowledge

Algorithmic knowledge of the principles related to transmission: Mapping (QPSK, QAM...), Nyquist filtering, Channel coding/decoding, Time/frequency/phase synchronization

In-depth knowledge;

Algorithmic coding in C/C++

General knowledge

Satellite system (principles, equipment and DVB (Digital Video Broadcasting) standards)

General knowledge
